Cougar Boys Oust Crusaders in UCT; Fall to Summit in Quarterfinals, 2-0
Riding a positive wave of wins, the sixth-seeded, 10-3 Cranford High School boys soccer team made it eightin- a-row by ousting the 11th-seeded AL Johnson Crusaders, 3-0, in the second round of the Union County Tournament (UCT) at Memorial Field in Cranford on October 16. That victory set the Cougars up against the third-seeded, red-hot 9-1-1 Summit Hilltoppers, who had just recently stunned the No. 7 Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders, 2-1. The Raiders received the top seed for the UCT.
