Trailing, 30-29, entering the fourth quarter the Mendham High School girls basketball team caught fire with a 22-11 run to jolt the Cranford Cougars, 51-41, in the season opener at Mendham on December 14. The big gun for Mendham was Lila Schoenfeld, who bucketed 22 points, including four 3-pointers and went 4for-4 from the line, and added three rebounds, four steals and an assist.
