WESTFIELD — During its regular meeting on March 19, the Rotary Club of Westfield inducted two new members: Kevin Sullivan and Jeffrey Mouscardy.

Mr. Sullivan was born at the submarine base in Groton, Conn., and grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. He attended Pace and New York Universities in Manhattan. He and his wife, Anja, have three children. His background is in accounting and finance, and he has worked in commercial real estate for 30 years. Mr. Sullivan is a member of Toastmasters of Westfield. He umpires baseball and basketball and referees CYO Basketball.

Mr. Mouscardy grew up in Bloomfield, N.J. He graduated from the International Culinary Institute, where he learned French cooking. An experienced chef, he has worked at some of New York City’s well-known restaurants, along with Echo Lake Country Club, and his cooking demonstrates the depth of his versatility. He currently works as a personal chef. Mr. Mouscardy lives in Westfield with his wife and two children.

Major projects for the Rotary Club include helping homeless veterans, collecting used bicycles to send to developing countries, helping to feed the local food insecure and eradicating polio worldwide. Rotary also has given many community grants over the years, and plans to give away $35,000 this year. Applications are available on the club website, www.westfieldrotary.com.

Since 1967, Westfield Rotary has awarded $3.5 million in scholarships to 1,800 students, and plans to give $150,000 this year. Scholarship applications for Westfield students are available through the Westfield High School Guidance Department.

The Rotary Club of Westfield meets the first three Tuesdays of each month for lunch at noon at Limáni Seafood Grill, located at 235 North Avenue West, Westfield. Guests are always welcome.
