Thrift Shop Has Clothing, Home Décor For Spring

SCOTCH PLAINS — The Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League has announced that its thrift shop shelves continue to be stocked with items perfect for refreshing one’s spring décor and wardrobe.

Warmer-weather clothing is now available in sizes ranging from infants to adults for males and females. Shoppers will find tops and bottoms, dresses, jackets, shoes, accessories and more, some brand-new and all in good condition. Household items, toys and home décor is being featured as well.

Additionally, the shop has evening wear just displayed and suitable for proms, weddings and other special occasions, including a few bridal gowns.

On Saturday, April 13, the shop will host during regular hours one of its periodic jewelry events — the perfect way to complement one’s special-occasion dress with just the right accessory.

As the season for “spring cleaning” gets underway, members of the community are encouraged to give items from their closets, home and yard a new lease on life by donating them to the thrift shop for future use by someone who needs and will treasure them.

Donations to the thrift shop, located at 1741 East Second Street, Scotch Plains, are accepted during normal store operating hours: Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.All store proceeds outside of operating expenses are donated by the Fanwood Scotch Plains Service League to local nonprofit organizations or used for student scholarships.

To learn more about the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League, volunteer opportunities and types of donations accepted, call the thrift shop during business hours at (908) 322-5420. Interested persons also can visit the Scotch Plains Thrift Shop website, https:// scotchplainsthriftshop.weebly.com/, or search the “Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League” on Facebook.
