Westfield High School seniors Gabriella Demeter and Sean O’Brien, along with senior Darcy Scheiner shined at the Len Pietrewicz Polar Bear Invitational track meet at theArmory in New York. Demeter took top honors in the high jump event with a clearance of 5-2 and junior Jordan Hadel placed 10th at 4-8.

O’Brien finished third in the 55 dash with a time of 7.44 just behind Darriel Whiting of Montclair at 7.43. Scheiner finished fourth at 7.58 and Natasha Redmond (Mt. Olive) crossed first at 7.32. Scheiner finished fourth in the 300 at 42.02 and O’Brien was sixth at 42.93. Emma Pranke finished 12th in the 1,600 at 5:35.65. In the 55 hurdle preliminaries, Victoria Gee was 10th at 9.68.
