WESTFIELD –The Westfield Foundation is proud to announce that 13 local nonprofit organizations have been awarded funding through its longstanding SummerYouth Employment Program, made possible by the generosity of the E. Alfred and Mary D. Herberich Fund.
For decades, this program has invested in the next generation by providing local students with meaningful summer employment, hands-on experience, and opportunities to develop valuable workplace skills. At the same time, participating nonprofits receive additional support to advance their missions and better serve our community.
“This program represents an investment in today’s youth as tomorrow’s changemakers,” said Katie Curran Darcy, Executive Director of The Westfield Foundation. “Through the vision and generosity of the Herberich family, students gain valuable experience, nonprofit organizations receive meaningful support, and our community benefits from both.”
The Summer Youth Employment Program reflects The Westfield Foundation’s commitment to expanding opportunity and fostering positive change. It remains one of the most rewarding programs we support because we see the impact firsthand— young people gain skills, confidence, and experience, while nonprofit organizations strengthen their ability to serve our community.
