Blue Devils Maul Montclair, 16-4; Stung by Ridgewood in Lax Semis
A bit of an early surprise was quickly extinguished by the second-seeded, No. 6 Westfield High School girls lacrosse team in its North Jersey, Group 5 quarterfinal game with the seventh-seeded Montclair Bulldogs at Gary Kehler Stadium in Westfield on June 1. After ceding the first goal then trailing, 2-1, early in the first quarter, the 17-5 Blue Devils stepped on the gas and zoomed to an 18-4 victory to face the third-seeded Ridgewood Maroon in the semifinal round in Westfield on June 4.
