A sensible beginning gradually turned into an anything goes demonstration when the Cranford Cougars softball team visited the Blue Devils in Westfield on April 16. Only three runs were plated in the first three innings and another three in the fourth but next came a whirlwind of hits, walks, interesting pitching changes, wild pitches, passed balls and errors but the Cougars managed to stave off the Blue Devils’ 10-run surge in the final three innings to salvage a 12-11 victory.
