One more game would determine which team would gain the top seed for the upcoming Union County Senior 60+ Softball League playoffs and it occurred when the 19-1 Linwood Boys hosted the 18-2 Swan Hotels at Memorial Field 2 in Linden on August 4. Pitcher Doug Fischer was at the top of his game and so were his teammates defensively and offensively as the Swan Hotel unloaded on the Linwood Boys to emerge with a 17-2 triumph - 6 runs spotted by League rule made score 17-8.
