Several key competitors from all teams were rested due to the upcoming Group Championships on May 30-31 but the Westfield High School boys, who led in the team totals on Day 1 on May 20, took advantage of its talented depth on Day 2 and grabbed the Union County Relay crown at Scotch Plains-Fanwood on May 28. The Blue Devil boys led Elizabeth 42-39 on Day 1, then extended their lead on Day 2 with a total of 93, followed by Elizabeth at 79. The Union Farmers finished third at 47, followed by the Rahway Indians at 44, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders at 41 and the Cranford Cougars at 37.
