Blue Devils Outlast Panthers In Softball Showdown, 8-7
Fine all-around softball ended up being needed by both teams when the 11-5 Bridgewater-Raritan Panthers crept into Westfield to face the 11-8 Blue Devils on May 12. Although the Panthers played well defensively and added an offensive surge in the late innings, it was the Blue Devils, who pulled off two wild double plays and had some great catches in the outfield, and added a pair of three-run home runs to salvage an 8-7 victory.
