Cranford BOE OKs Plan To Improve Energy Savings
CRANFORD — The Cranford Board of Education met Monday to approve an Energy Savings Improvement Plan (ESIP), which allows the district to pursue energyrelated infrastructure projects through a bond ordinance. Unlike bond referendums, which are voted on by the public, the ESIP is considered “budget neutral,” because future savings from energy efficiency will offset the costs of the bonds. The board gave full approval for a $9-million contract with DCO Energy, LLC (DCO), which has worked with Business Administrator Robert Carfagno since 2023 to assess and plan for the district’s needs.
