SPIRITUAL HOME...St. Thomas AME Zion Church was built in what is now Brightwood Park. The church and its land was bought back by the town as the neighborhood there was being dismantled to be replaced by the park.

MLK Assoc. Exhibit to Look At Vanishing Neighborhoods
WESTFIELD — The History and Education Committee of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Westfield will present an exhibit during the month of May entitled “ Vanishing Westfield Neighborhoods: The African American Experience.” Funded by The Westfield Foundation, the exhibit will be on display at The Presbyterian Church in Westfield, located at 140 Mountain Avenue, Westfield.
