WUF Is Seeking Community Support to Reach $500K Goal

WESTFIELD — Founded in 1938, the Westfield United Fund is a local nonprofit committed to supporting high-impact programs and services by helping fund 17 local nonprofit organizations that benefit both the Westfield community and Union County. With just $63,000 remaining to reach its $500,000 annual fund-raising goal by the end of April, the Westfield United Fund invites members of the community to be part of Westfield’s tradition of giving back.

“At this moment, we’re actively engaging with our partner agencies, reviewing their grant applications, seeing their operations first-hand, and hearing about the challenges their clients face every day. We are committed to providing these remarkable organizations with as much funding as possible because the need is immense,” said Beth Saad, executive director of the Westfield United Fund.

“However, to make that happen, we rely on the support of our local community,” she continued. “Nearly 92 percent of the donations we receive come from people right here in Westfield. It really comes down to neighbors helping neighbors.”

The Westfield United Fund’s partner agencies address a broad range of critical needs, with a focus in five key areas: low-income support, mental- health services, senior care, assistance for individuals with disabilities, and general community needs. By focusing on these distinct yet interconnected categories, the Fund ensures that its resources are directed where they are needed most.

Agencies include, but are not limited to: Cerebral Palsy League, Imagine, JCC of Central New Jersey, Mobile Meals of Westfield, St. Joseph Social Service Center and the Westfield Area YMCA.

“Every donation, whether from an individual, a local business, or through a workplace-giving program, helps us move closer to ensuring these programs can thrive and meet the growing demands of our community,” added Ms. Saad. “We are tremendously grateful for every donation we receive. We like to say that at the Westfield United Fund, your donation goes far, but not far away.”
