William B. Kenny

William B. Kenny, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Westfield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the age of 100. He lived most of his life in Westfield, N.J.

Soon after graduating from Westfield High School, he left to serve his country in the Navy. Upon returning home, he met and married Mona Waters and together they raised four wonderful children — Mona, William, Michael and Timothy. Bill also served the Town of Westfield as a police officer for 28 years, where he attained the rank of Sergeant.

Bill was an avid tennis player and enjoyed golf as well. At the age of 95, he got a hole in one at his community golf course in Fort Myers.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mona, of 70 years, and his eldest son, William. Bill truly lived a long and wonderful life. He and Mona traveled to many countries and also enjoyed summers in Maine. They also enjoyed spending time with their eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Bill was a good father, and friend to many. He worked hard and made many sacrifices for his family. He leaves us with so many great memories and will be missed dearly.

Bill and Mona were laid to rest on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at The Garth, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Westfield. The service was given by The Reverend Marco Serrano.
