The seventh-seeded Hunterdon Central Baseball team ousted the second- seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders, 9-3, in the quarterfinal round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 playoffs in Scotch Plains on May 29. Evan Doyle went 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBI for the 20-9 Raiders. Jack Sponheimer went 2for-4. CJ Bates went 1-for-3, with a walk and a run scored. Ryan Quinones singled and walked. Joe LaRosa andAnthony Veglia both singled. Matt Greisman scored once.
Dan Contiliano whacked a pair of doubles and had four RBI for 15-10 Hunterdon Central. Mike Contiliano singled, walked, stole a base and scored three runs. Jack Brunetti singled twice, scored twice and had two RBI. Winning pitcher Tommy Baase doubled twice, walked and had an RBI.
