Theodore “Ted” Kamins

Theodore S. ‘Ted’ Kamins, 70, Beloved Son and Brother, Kindhearted Friend

Theodore Stephen “Ted” Kamins, age 70, of Wilmington, Del., formerly of Westfield, N.J., passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Born and raised in Westfield, N.J., Ted was the son of the late Mary Florence (McInnis) and Nicholas Theodore Kamins. He graduated from Westfield High School, where he was a threesport athlete and captain. Ted was a member of the state championship cross-country team during his senior year. Ted went on to attend the College of William and Mary, where he received a full track scholarship and ran varsity as a freshman. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in English from Kean University. Ted worked for J.S. Paluch Company, the leading press for local churches, and was the top sales associate on the East Coast for many years, having formed close relationships with his clients. Ted was devoted to the Catholic church and served as a lector at his local church in Westfield, Holy Trinity, for many years. Ted enjoyed writing and had several articles published over the years. He loved music and enjoyed dancing, even playing the accordion like his father. Ted was known for his kind and caring nature and was dedicated to his family. With his infectious smile and kind demeanor, Ted was beloved by all.

Ted was predeceased by his parents, Mary Florence and Nicholas Theodore Kamins. He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Michael Kamins, Peter and Teresa Kamins, Kathryn and Mike McCord, and Stephen and Liz Kamins; two nieces and seven nephews; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. Ted’s family would like to thank the staff of Arden Courts and Heartland Hospice for their exceptional care and love for Ted.

A visitation will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707, on Friday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Ashland, Del., at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ted’s name to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707, or Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 315 1st Street, Westfield, N.J. 07090.
