The Westfield High School golf team claimed the Union County Tournament Championship held at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield on May 1. The Blue Devils finished with a total of 308 to outpace the Oratory Prep Rams who finished with a total of 316.
The Cranford Cougars finished third with a total of 326, followed closely by the Summit Hilltoppers at 328. The Scotch Plains-Fanwood (SPF) Raiders were fifth at 335, followed by Governor Livingston (GL) Highlanders at 350,ALJohnson (ALJ) Crusaders at 356 and New Providence (NP) Pioneers at 360.
Oratory’s Henry Bolster won the individual title with an even par 71. Bolster eagled the par 5, 538-yard 12th hole. Blue Devil senior James Dunn finished second with a three over par 74, followed by Raider Jake Todaro with a 75. Ethan Delforte (Westfield), Kevin Kronert (NP) and Brandon Quash (Cranford) tied for fourth at 77.
Chris Santarelli (Cranford) and Blue Devil Toby Zippler tied for seventh at 78. Henry Heil (Union Catholic), Charles Weiss (Summit) and Blue Devil Jack Paterson tied for ninth at 79. Brady Silverman (Governor Livingston), Dylan MacNaughton (Oratory Prep) and Mark Orlowski (AL Johnson) tied for 12th at 80.
