No stranger to the Garden State, Evangelia Psarakis shared time growing up both on her grandmother’s small farm on the island of Crete and her parents’house in New Jersey. She completed her teacher training course at Rutgers Graduate School of Education in 2015, and, before graduating, performed as a singer at New York City clubs.
After working as a teacher for three years, she decided to devote herself entirely to her music career. Evangelia competed in the 2025 Greek national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song “Vale,” which finished in second place. The song was featured in Evangelia’s debut solo album,“Pepromeno,” released in June 2025.
She competed in the Greek national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song “Parea,” which finished in fourth place.
Engaged to American songwriter and producer Jay Stolar, Evangelia supports the Philo4Thought Inc. Hellenic Mentoring Initiative.
