Cougar Girls 2nd, Blue Devil Boys & Girls 3rd at UCT Track
Total dominance on the part of the Union Catholic Viking girls and boys had a number of teams scrambling for second place in the Union County Tournament Track & Field Championships at Hub Stine Field in Plainfield on May 7-8. The Viking girls finished with a total of 221 way ahead of the Cranford Cougars, who placed second at 48.5, followed by the Westfield Blue Devils at 42, Union at 39.5 and Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders at 34. The Viking boys racked up 167 points, while Elizabeth was second at 51, followed closely by the Blue Devils with 49, Jonathan Dayton at 40 and Cranford at 35. The Raiders took seventh at 27.5.
