Blue Devils Growl Back, Rip Cougar Boys in UCT Lax, 20-7

Six unanswered goals which led to a 9-1 second-quarter run, extinguished any thoughts of a possibly stunning upset when the sixth-seeded Cranford boys lacrosse team faced the thirdseeded Westfield Blue Devils in the quarterfinal round of the Union County Tournament (UCT) at Gary Kehler Stadium in Westfield on May 5. Trailing, 4-2, entering the second quarter, the Blue Devils quickly found a huge chink in the Cougars’ armor to carry an 11-5 lead into the second half en route to a 20-7 triumph.
