Raiders Use Strong Pitching, Wobble ALJ Crusaders, 5-1
Handling a hard-hitting squad that opened its season with a whopping 14-0, five-inning wipe out of the Westfield Blue Devils, then followed with a pair of 17-run games against the Brearley Bears would be quite a chore for the 2-1 Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders baseball team that hosted the 3-0 AL Johnson Crusaders on April 4. But junior pitcher Connor Hayeck was at the top of his game and tossed six innings of four-hit ball, walked just two and hit a batter, recording eight strikeouts in a 5-1 Raider triumph.
