Cardinal Girls ‘Steal’ Victory From Cougars in Hoops, 46-36
Very successful acts of thievery and a wicked press in the second quarter tilted momentum in favor of the Plainfield High School girls basketball team in its game with the Cranford Cougars in Cranford on January 6. After a modest 10-7 firstquarter lead, the Cardinals went on a stealing frenzy in the second quarter that resulted in a 13-4 run and a 2311, halftime lead en route to a 46-36 victory. Two days later, the Cougars rebounded to tame the Roselle Catholic Lions, 41-28, at Roselle.
