East Brunswick Boys Survive Cougars’ Surge, Win 72-70 OT
What initially appeared to be a runaway victory turned out to be anything but when the Cranford High School boys basketball team entertained the East Brunswick Bears in Cranford on January 3. The Bears, who entered the game with a 7-1 record were burning the net early on and seized a 21-7 lead within the first seven minutes then witnessed a persistent comeback attempt by the Cougars but managed to survive with a 72-70, overtime victory.
