August 28, 2025 marked the first game in decades that the Westfield High School Blue Devils and the Plainfield Cardinals did not play each other for their Annual Thanksgiving Day Football Classic that dated back as far as 1900. The game was played on the brand new turf at Hub Stine Field in Plainfield and the Blue Devils emerged victorious, 21-14, to give them a 67-46-7 edge in wins ( 1901 game was listed NA but in Westfield’s favor).
