Jacques Pierre Andre

In Loving Memory of Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Jacques “Jac” Pierre Andre

Jac was born in Warren, Ohio, but grew up on the banks of the Mississippi in Davenport, Iowa, where he graduated from high school in 1955. His activities centered mostly around ROTC, sports, and playing saxophone in a high school dance band.

Jac graduated from the University of Miami in 1959 with a BBA degree. At college, he was involved in many activities including being President of his fraternity and Executive Officer of the ROTC unit from which he was a Distinguished Medaling Graduate. After completing his military active-duty obligation, he began his career in human resources with Sealtest Foods followed by P. Ballantine and Sons. After ten years, he joined Paul R. Ray and Co., a leading executive search firm where he became a Partner in charge of its international financial service practice and remained on its board of directors for many years. Jac was selected as one of America’s top one hundred executive recruiters in the books “The Career Makers” and “The New Career Makers”, as well as being listed in the book “The Global 200 Executive Recruiters”.

Jac served on the board of directors of Bally Gaming and was a member of Echo Lake Country Club. He was also on the board of directors of the Association of Executive Search Consultants, the NewYork Board of Trade, and the Business Council of the United Nations.

After working harder than anyone else, Jac finally retired to enjoy his passions of traveling the world with his family and spending winters at their beach house, in the Cayman Islands. Jac also enjoyed serving on that property’s Executive Committee. He never “sat” for long, even while on the beach. He will be deeply missed by all who have been touched by his kindness, his mentorship, and generosity. Jac met his future bride when they were both very young children as their fathers were best friends. He married KathleenAnn McCarthy in 1959, and they were married for 66 years. They had two children, JayAndre (Marian) and Michelle Barbagallo (Kurt), and four grandchildren, Tanasia andAlexa Barbagallo and Meredith and Josephine Andre. Jac is also survived by “family” in Cayman – Brian Barnes (Charlene) and their two children, Jade and Amber.
