The third-seeded Cranford High School girls volleyball team defeated sixth-seeded Hopewell Valley, 25-18, 25-15, 25-20, in the quarterfinal round of the Central Jersey, Group 2 playoffs in Cranford on November 5. The 19-4 Cougars were not so fortunate when they were tripped up in Berkeley Heights on November 7 by the second-seeded Governor Livingston Highlanders, 25-19, 25-12, 25-12, in the semifinal round.
