Taking control from the onset, it was just a matter of time when the third-seeded Cranford High School boys soccer team would be bidding adieu to the 14th-seeded Middletown North Lions in the first round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 Playoffs at Memorial Field in Cranford on November 4. The 13-5 Cougars netted a goal early on in the contest, added another just before halftime then fluffed up their cushion with two more in the second half to claim a 40 victory.
