Marie Brennan, 89, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, at White Oak Manor in Charleston, SC. Born in Tulsa, OK to the late Roy and Irene Boughrum, Marie spent most of her life in Westfield, NJ, where she and her husband John raised their family and built lasting friendships. She later moved to South Carolina to be closer to loved ones.
A dedicated and compassionate caregiver, Marie worked for many years as a Registered Nurse and later in nursing administration. Her gentle spirit, empathy, and professionalism touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues throughout her career.
Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Brennan, who passed away in 2016. Together, they shared a loving marriage and a deep commitment to family. She will be dearly missed by her six children; Michael (Sarah), Kevin (Linda), Kathleen Brady (Ronald), Maureen Barnes, Patricia Lutz (Kurt), and Timothy (Joan); as well as her 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 31st, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue, Fanwood, followed by a prayer service at 12 p.m. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, in loving memory of Marie.
