Jeremy Berman for Mayor has a platform that focuses on innovation and investment to continue improvement of our Town. These ideas are clearly articulated in detail on his website and candidate statements this campaign season. This is in contrast to Councilman Domogala, who in his role as Third Ward Councilman, has no record of ideas for Westfield and was pressured to publish a platform only after Berman published his.
When Domogala was on the ballot for Council, he campaigned vehemently against the Edison School Fields Plan and promised to come up with an alternative. It’s been two years — the residents of Westfield are still waiting. We still drive our kids to other towns to play “home” games on their fields. Domogala did not have fresh ideas, he just opposed what was presented. This time around, he still offers no real solutions, just more rhetoric.
Jeremy Berman is an entrepreneur who has raised innovative ideas throughout his campaign for Mayor from financially supporting the rescue squad to exploring opening a pub on the southside (which was met with resounding applause) to championing small business ownership in town.
Domogala has proposed nothing. Instead, he has focused his campaign on attacks and criticism. In response to any idea, he objects with issues of process and logistics; and still he offers no solutions. Incredulously, he went so far as to question the integrity of the volunteers who serve our community and publicly shame a well respected Westfield business owner.
Attacking ideas and people is not a platform. Voting “no” is not a platform. It doesn’t move Westfield forward, keep our Town competitive, safe, or prepare us for the future. Opposition without solutions doesn’t advance our community’s goals. Criticism alone is not innovation- it’s stagnation.
Our Town cannot afford four years of Domogala’s do-nothing agenda.
