Why Reshma Adwar Had Me At Hello!
Paid Political
October 23, 2025
Why Reshma Adwar Had Me At Hello!

After eight years of serving our amazing town of Westfield as a member of the Council, I have learned a little bit about the job of being an elected official. It has been an outstanding two terms for me–ones that I wouldn’t trade for the world–and in each of my eight years I learned new skills to serve you better.

What struck me about Reshma Adwar from the first time I met her is how many of those skills she innately possesses. Then, and now, Reshma is engaged, listens carefully, thoughtfully considers what she is going to say before she starts to speak, and has this ‘je ne sais quoi’ that makes everyone who meets her want to get to know her better. She is intelligent, warm, inquisitive and funny. Moreover, she wants to bring her time, talents, education, professional acumen and people skills to the job of serving the Town for 4 years.

On top of Reshma possessing a skill set that is perfect for the job, I would like to share three other important reasons why you should vote for Reshma Adwar on November 4th: 1. Reshma is a scientist at heart. She asks a lot of questions before she forms an opinion. She is fact-based in her assessments and has established her platform based on careful research garnered from her time in front of residents learning what they care about.

2. Reshma is self-less. She is not seeking the job for any other reason than she wants to serve. She wants to represent you and feels passionately about the Council reflecting the demographics of our town, which over time, has been far from a reality. [NB: Despite our 300+ year history, Westfield has had only 1 female mayor, and there were fewer than 10 women who had served on the Council when I was elected in 2017] 3. Reshma is passionately committed to making a difference. Without a doubt, she has the energy and creativity to take on and solve tough problems with grace and ingenuity.

The more time I have spent with her the more I’m relieved that I don’t have to run against her! Instead, I hold a seat of honor. I have the privilege of unequivocally endorsing an incredibly talented and dedicated future civil servant in Reshma Adwar. A woman who I am beyond excited to pass the Ward 1 torch to at the end of my term. Vote for Reshma!

Councilwoman Linda Habgood,

Ward 1
