The second-seeded Westfield High School girls tennis team defeated the Elizabeth Lady Minutemen, 5-0, in the quarterfinal round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 Tournament on October then advanced to the championships after defeating the Columbia Cougars, 4-1, in the semifinal on October 9. In between, the Blue Devils blanked the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders, 5-0.
