It was certainly not the traditional Annual Thanksgiving Day game like in the past when the Plainfield football Cardinals hosted the Westfield Blue Devils in the season opener on their brand new turf field on August 28. The usual excitement was still there, however, and it went down to the final seconds to decide the outcome when Blue Devil junior Jordan Walsh scooted in from two yards out to earn his team a 21-14 victory.
