St. Sebs Stun St. Iggies, 14-3, In St. Barts 1st Round Playoff
David faced Goliath again and the result turned out the same as the first encounter in Biblical times. Eightseeded St. Sebastian arrived with a full sling of “stones” and pelted topseeded St. Ignatius, 14-3, in the first round of the St. Bart’s Oldtimers Men’s Softball League Playoffs at Brookside Park in Scotch Plains on August 14. While St. Sebastian advanced to the second round of the winners bracket, St. Ignatius was cast into the elimination bracket and must battle its way back for a chance to play for all the marbles on Labor Day.
