SCOTCH PLAINS – The Recreation Commission will apply for a County matching grant that will be used for smaller-scale upgrades to the Township parks. Some possible projects, according to Recreation Director Julie Buonaguro, include new pavilions, picnic tables, covered dugouts and newer bleachers. She told The Leader that the grant money could amount to $50,000 to $60,000, with a Township match doubling that dollar amount.
