St. Ignatius Resorts to Walks To Silence St. Wolfgang, 6-2
Known for packing a lot of power, the men of St. Ignatius, perched on the top rung of the St. Bart’s Oldtimers Men’s Softball League ladder, were forced to resort to a very different approach to keep from losing ground to St. Wolfgang, who was second on the ladder at the end of July. Facing the unfamiliar pitching styles of Rob Stratton and Ara Movsesian, who stepped in for their absent pitching ace Gary Leichtling, St. Ignatius capitalized on numerous walks to earn a 6-2 victory on the baseball field at Forest Road Park in Fanwood on August 1.
