Gratitude for Nurses Part I: The Heart and Soul of Medical Care
Monday morning, three weeks ago, I went to my primary doctor for help with shortness of breath. She suggested we make four loops around the hallway to double-check my breathing. By loop three, I was short of breath and sold, albeit reluctantly, on the ride in an ambulance, my first ever, to a nearby hospital.
