Garwood Council Discusses Police Dept. Activity
GARWOOD — The Garwood Police Department had a very active month of June, according to Garwood Councilman Vincent Kearney. At Thursday night’s mayor and council meeting, Councilman Kearney shared that the Garwood Police Department reported 2,201 calls last month. There were 387 motor vehicle stops, 41 parking complaints, 152 fixed traffic posts (including distracted driving and radar stop signs) and 23 motor vehicle crashes in June. Additionally, there were 182 building and property checks, 27 medical assists, 86 community- policing posts, 21 walking posts, 28 suspicious persons or vehicles investigated and 23 criminal investigations.
