Branchburg Rocks WF Blue In Ripken 12U State Semi, 13-1
Early on in the Cal Ripken, Jr. 12U State Tournament, the Branchburg Bulldogs looked to be the team to beat and entered the playoff semifinal round with the only unbeaten record to face the Westfield Blue at Gumbert Field 2 in Westfield on July 10. The Bulldogs definitely proved that they planned to remain the “Top Dogs” when they delivered a 13-1, three and one-half inning setback to the Westfield Blue to advance to the championship to face the Marlboro Mustangs, who defeated the Wayne Wolfpack, 2-0, in the other semifinal.
