Cranford’s Run in Sixth Nips Marlboro in Cal Ripken 12U

Few opportunities existed when the Cranford Blue 12U baseball team and the Marlboro Mustangs were involved in an intense pitchers’ duel during Round 2 of Pool A play of the Cal Ripken, Jr. State Tournament hosted by the Westfield Youth Baseball League at Gumbert Field 1 on July 6. Neither team could reach home plate until an opportunity knocked in the bottom of the sixth inning and the Cranford Blue capitalized to pull out a 1-0 triumph.
