Raiders Topple Hilltoppers For UCT Softball Crown, 4-2
One year ago, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School softball team came ever so close to winning the Union County Tournament (UCT) crown but were denied thanks to a home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. It has been a long, long time coming since the second-seeded Raiders have won the title but this time a determined pitching performance, some key defensive plays and two-run home run would earn them a 4-2 victory over the Summit Hilltoppers at Kean University in Union on May 20.
