UC Vikings’ 4-Run 7th Stings Blue Devils in UCT Semi, 7-6
Late inning fireworks at the plate overshadowed two fine pitching performances when the second-seeded Westfield baseball Blue Devils hosted the third-seeded Union Catholic Vikings in the semifinal round of the Union County Tournament at AL Johnson High School in Clark on May 17. A 3-3 deadlock was shattered when the Blue Devils scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning but the Vikings resoundingly responded with four runs in the seventh then held of for a 7-6 triumph.
