St. Bart’s Men’s Softball Holds Annual Player Draft

The St. Bart’s Old-timers Softball League held its annual player draft on April 14. In a tradition dating back to the formation of the league, captains selected players from a hat. This format makes it easy to meetplayers from other teams, in what sometimes seems more like a fraternity than a softball league. Several players, eager to hear of their new teams and reconnect with friends after a long winter, attended this very exciting event. “Commish” Jim Killeen kicked off the evening by wishing farewell to the “G.O.A.T” Frank Chupko, who is taking the tape off his cleats after over 40 years and 400 career victories. You will be missed Frank! Teams, captains, and sponsors for the 2025 season are listed below: Listed are the Teams, Captain and Sponsor: St.Anthony, Bobby Camisa, Sideline Sports; St George, Jeff Friedlander, Loyalty First Lending, LLC; St. Francis, Ben LoBrace, Franklin LoBrace; St. Justin, Mike Cunningham, Family Invertors; St. Vincent, Keith Karyczak, Rossi Funeral Home; St. Wolfgang, Rich Pohamus, RosenfarbAcupuncture; St. Ignatius, Bob McGuiness, TNJ Farms; St. Sebastian, Wells Pikaart, WIT Screen Printing & Promos.
