Why I Support Jenn Gilman For Ward 3 Council

Why I Support Jenn Gilman For Ward 3 Council

I support Jennifer Gilman’s candidacy for the Westfield Town Council Ward 3 seat. Speaking as a Westfield resident for 17 years, and someone who has known Jenn for more than a decade, I wholeheartedly believe she is the clear choice to serve as Councilwoman for Ward 3 and our community at large.

When I first met Jenn, she was the leader of my daughter’s Girl Scout Troop. Jenn immediately impressed me with her desire to do good work within our community and lead the Troop by example. During my children’s time at Jefferson Elementary, Jenn served on the PTO Board and as Co-President for two years. She was also Co-Producer for the Jefferson Jubilee, a long-standing school tradition, as well as the school’s largest fundraiser. Year after year, I saw Jenn work tirelessly at serving our school community and making the Jefferson Jubilee a very special experience for both the students and parents.

As a Ward 3 resident, I recently had the opportunity to talk to Jenn about her focus and priorities if elected to Council. Once again, I was impressed with Jenn’s roll-up-her-sleeves attitude on how our local government could play a role in improving the day-to-day quality of life for its residents. At the top of her list (and mine) is infrastructure improvements to traffic and pedestrian safety. Jenn also shared with me that she’s very passionate about fostering a family friendly environment in Westfield. Community engagement is very meaningful to her, and Jenn was proud to have helped launch one of Westfield’s newest town wide events, Tour de Westfield.

Jenn Gilman is one of those special people that you meet in life. Someone who humbly inspires others to think outside of themselves and to get involved. I am more community minded for knowing Jenn and I am grateful to her for that. I hope you will join me in casting your vote for a person that genuinely loves our town and will work harder than everyone else in the room to serve our community.
