Cougars Pull Comeback, Top Blue Devils in Softball, 9-5
Coming off a key, 2-1, victory over the defending Union County Tournament champion Dayton Bulldogs four days earlier and a big win over Hanover Park on April 19, the Cranford Cougars softball team found itself in a jam early on against the hosting Westfield Blue Devils onApril 21. Then the Cougars resorted to the long ball with a pair of triples in the top of the fifth inning, a home run in the sixth and another home run and a pair of doubles in the seventh to pull off a 9-5, comeback victory.
