Choral Art Society of NJ presents ‘Carry Me Home’ Concert on Sunday, May 4 at 3 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church in Westfield, 140 Mountain Avenue, Westfield. Choral Art Society of NJ welcomes the Westfield High School Concert Choir in a joint celebration of American folk traditions, with a special focus on works by African-American composers, time-honored spirituals, works from famous poets, and classic Americana. The concert will feature ‘Fern Hill’ , a setting of Dylan Thomas’s poem by composer John Corigliano, and ‘Chariot Jubilee’ by R. Nathaniel Dett. Adult tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. Senior/Student tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Youth under 18, Families First card holders, and WIC card holders are admitted free. Chamber Music: Sunday, May 4 at 3:30 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El in Westfield. Mostly Music presents performances by renowned guest artists in a small, friendly setting. Before performing each work, the musicians offer musical and historical insights about the composer and their inspirations. The May 4th performance will feature Ani Kavafian, Ariel Horowitz, Oliver Neubauer, Paul Neubauer, Fred Sherry, and Janice Carissa, performing Brahms Piano Quintet in F Minor, Chausson Concerto for Piano, Violin and String Quartet, and the premiere of George Tsontakis’ ‘For Anyone Else.’ The composer will be speaking at the performance. HomeTour, Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Five distinguished homes representing a range of architectural influences and design sensibilities generously open their doors to benefit the NJ Festival Orchestra. This self-guided tour of Westfield homes will feature live music, door prizes, and refreshments.
