Rake and Hoe Garden Club Invites All to Flower Show
FLOWERS AND ART...Rake and Hoe Garden Club member Karen Troiano prepares her entry to the Division 1 floral design section: “Art, Undeniably, is Conducive to Happiness,” using Hybrid Tea Rose, Cider Gum Eucalyptus, Chinese Wisteria, Cyclamen, Parmeliaceae, and Fir Tree Bark. Ms. Troiano was inspired by artist Jean Berkley’s pastel of ballet dancers (also on display to the right of the arrangement). “I chose this piece not only for my love of the ballet, but also because it once belonged to my beloved Aunt Alice, who influenced me greatly with her appreciation for the ballet, opera, literature and travel,” Ms. Troiano said.
