Blue Devils’ Big 4th, 5th Jolts Chatham Cougar Nine, 12-4

Senior Grant Como needed to sparkle on the mound and hope that his batting lineup with only four returning starters, would hold up in the Westfield High School baseball team’s season opener against the Chatham Cougars at Bob Brewster, Sr. Field in Westfield on April 1. Como pitched five strong innings and the offense, indeed, did its job, especially in the fourth and fifth innings to earn the Blue Devils a 12-4 victory over the Cougars.
