Formerly of Westfield and Fanwood, N.J.

Patrick Michael O’Leary, 66, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and formerly of Westfield and Fanwood, N.J., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Paul and Theresa “Betty” (Pauline) O’Leary.

Pat was raised in Niagara Falls, where he graduated from Bishop Duffy High School. He went on to attend Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. Patrick had a passion for sports, most notably hockey, playing for many different teams throughout his life.

After college, he traveled out west, working on oil rigs and ranches in Wyoming and Montana, where he enjoyed caring for horses, livestock and other wildlife. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter.

Pat owned several businesses in the Westfield area, including landscaping and home repair. He enjoyed watching hockey games with his family whenever he could.

Most recently, Pat returned to his hometown of Niagara Falls.

Pat is survived by his children, Emilia O’Leary, Wyatt O’Leary and U.S. Navy Ensign Griffin O’Leary (Kerri); his former wife, Dee O’Leary; two siblings, Sean O’Leary and Mary Kay Gruarin (Bob); Aunt Judy Noworyta, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Daniel O’Leary, Timothy O’Leary and Paul O’Leary.

Visitation will be held today, Thursday, March 27, from 5 to 8 p.m., at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, N.Y. Patrick’s Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 28, at 10 a.m., in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph’s Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, N.Y.
