In a recent letter, Michelle Capobianco, a Republican candidate defeated in her 2023 run for the Garwood Council, criticized Councilman Sean Foley and Mayor Jen Blumenstock for perceived slights against her and her husband (who was not reappointed to the Planning Board). Her husband previously served as the Class 2 Board member, which is not a volunteer position. Council Members, Class 4 Planning Board members, and the Mayor are volunteers. However, the Class 2 member must be a paid employee of the Borough. Mrs. Capobianco’s husband is Garwood’s Emergency Management Coordinator, a paid position.
